Women Overtake Men in Smartphone Ownership in the UK
A new Infographic from IMRG (Interactive Media in Retail Group) out of the UK aims to show the “Explosion of Mobile”. IMRG worked with eDigitalResearch to track the growth in the mobile channel in the UK market over the past three years.
This snapshot illustrates the shift from smartphone business use to the hands of the consumer. In 2010 we saw Men dominate smartphone ownership with 63% of the gender pie. Today we see more of a a Female skew with 58% woman owning this device. 
Changes in age are also illustrated here with the most change from 2010 to 2013 in the senior category 55+. 
According to IMRG, UK has a 60% smartphone penetration which is much  higher than in my home country of Canada where it is expected that only 47% of Canucks have this device.
